Mixed Media (Wood Block Prints with Watercolor)
Each of these prints, titled “Mountains on My Mind” start with the same woodblock print of the mountain view looking out a window. Inspired by the changing scene, I used watercolor to capture the moods that I remembered in the sky and land. The passage of time, and weather, changed the light and mood of the clouds and the mountains themselves. Nature is so expressive! These prints are 16 x 7 in.
Another Mixed Media Print Series, titled ““View of The Sandias.” This image also varies in color and expression. The solid black woodblock and added watercolor reflects the setting sun on the Sandia Mountians. “Sandia” means watermelon, and these mountains turn a magical pinkish color at sunset. This print is about 12.5 x 7 inches in size.
